Ultapani is about 45 Kms from Kokrajhar town and can be reached by private cabs and taxis.This is a place for nature lovers who like to experience a forest area with variety of plants, birds & wild animals. Lying in the western bank of the Manas River, Ultapani is a rich dwelling place of Pied Hornbills and wild Orchids, intertwined with trees, creepers, ferns and the rippling river. According to Bodoland Tourism Department, 2014 this small forest has a vast botanical wealth with 197 species of trees and an equal number of flowering plants. It is also a favourite dwelling area for Indian elephant, Golden Langur, Capped Langur, Tiger, Clouded leopard, leopard, Golden Cat, Fishing Cat, Swamp Deer, Sambar etc. Now a days tourist guest house is also provided for accommodation for tourist. Besides, tent accommodation, night camping at Ultapani, including activities like nature trails and wildlife viewing, bird watching at Na-bhandar, are also be offered here to the tourists.

Here lie the sacred forests of Siknajhar within Ultapani where the Bodo people worship "Bwrai Bathou"(God) in a very traditional way in open nature in the forest. It is also said that in the ancient times one child was found by two childless couple from this jungle and later this child became the great Bodo warrior Sikna Jwhwlao .There is the existence of an ancient rock stairs still here and some utensils have also found there.
